To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Dirk Gently comics, we interview Chris Ryall, writer of the Interconnectedness of all Kings, to talk about how he got his start writing comics, the challenges of writing a comic to tie-in with an upcoming and constantly changing TV show, how Kate Schechter being a CIA agent was originally planned to be a part of the show, and more!Contact us at: https://dirkgentlypodcast.wordpress.com/

Douglas Adams: The Ends of the Earth review - Part 2
Ed and Nemo continue their review of the Douglas Adams: The Ends of the Earth audiobook covering the second half of it's content. They discuss politics, economics and 3 rules for governance inspired by Dirk Gently. We also discuss some of the contributors to this section of the audiobook, including Professor Brian Klass and the ever controversial Max Landis who is inexplicably brought in to discuss Douglas' beliefs in a very strange chapter on religion. Finally we discuss Arvind Ethan David's latest projects in the Adamsverse and how this audiobook affects our view of them. Feel free to contact us via our website: dirkgentlypodcast.wordpress.com

Douglas Adams: The Ends of the Earth review - Part 1
Ed and Nemo reconvene to talk about the first half of the Douglas Adams: The Ends of the Earth audiobook by Prodigal Entertainment and Arvind Ethan David. They discuss the topics Arvind chose to cover, (And the curious absence of AI despite it being promised as a focus) the amazing archive material of Douglas that was included, some of Arvind's bizarre and unnecessary editorialising, and the choice of interviewees, including the controversial decision to include disgraced screenwriter and credibly alleged sexual abuser Max Landis. Strap in because there's a lot to cover here. This episode was also recorded just before the untimely death of actor Julian McMahon from Cancer at the age of 56. We were very fortunate to have Julian play a pivotal supporting role in the Dirk Gently universe, and his death is a huge loss for both his family and his many fans from throughout his career; he will be greatly missed.Feel free to contact us via our website: dirkgentlypodcast.wordpress.com

Episode Forty: Belief, science and mysticism - Part 2
In the second of a three part episode, Ed and Nemo continue their discussion on the theme of Religion vs. Science throughout the history of Dirk Gently by looking at the two TV shows written in the post-Douglas era: The 2010-2012 BBC4 show and it's Pro-Science, almost atheist viewpoint for Dirk, and by contrast the 2016-2017 BBC America/Netflix show, which presents Holism as a religion, and we have fun going through the show's dialogue and replacing the word "Universe" with "God" and seeing how it changes things. Ed also compares Bart Curlish to the crusaders knights of the Middle Ages. There has been some interesting news but since this was recorded last year (And intended to come out much earlier but the deadline whooshed by and nobody seemed to notice or care, so I figured I'd gotten away with it.) so there is no discussion of the Douglas Adams Explaining the World audiobook coming out somewhere in May-August.Feel free to contact us via our website: dirkgentlypodcast.wordpress.com
