Women in Film: Representation with Lauren DeCarvalho, PhD
Dr. Lauren DeCarvalho, one of the University of Denver’s highly-esteemed film and media professors, received her Ph.D. in Mass Communications from Penn State. She is an assistant professor at the University of Denver where she teaches film theory, experimental film production, women in film, and many other film and media-oriented classes. Her research focuses on the social constructions of gender and its intersection with other identities within media and popular culture.

Casting in Film with Oahn Le Diaz, Emily Goldberg, and Ronnie Cheng
Oanh Le Diaz is the current casting director and producer for Hunting Season. As an artist from a young age, Oanh’s creative eye has enhanced her years of work in graphic design leading her to specialize in marketing and design where she has created ads for various industries from finance to outdoor recreation. She is a dedicated producer and distributes as many captivating stories as she can. Inspired by the emotional storytelling by her favorite brands and networks, her most notable work has been with Superlative Films where she helped craft the social media and digital marketing campaign for the theatrical release of the critically-acclaimed Sundance film, COLUMBUS. Currently, she manages a video production company called ‘Wander’ focusing on short branded documentaries.
Emily Goldberg and Ronnie Cheng are both students at the University of Denver and members of Project DU F.I.L.M.
