Our thoughts go out to all of the families who lost someone in this recent tragedy. In this episode, we have the audio from the control tower leading up to the mid-air crash of American Eagle flight 5342 and an Army helicopter near Washington Reagan airport (DCA). The flight was carrying 64 passengers and crew from Wichita, Kansas to DC and collided with the helicopter performing a training flight with 3 service members on board. ATOOC: Near Collision at PHX
In this episode, we are going to listen in on the ATC communications from the recent near collision between Delta and United flights in Phoenix. Delta Flight 1070 had been cleared to land at Sky Harbor’s Runway 8 when a collision warning went off in the cockpit. The flight, carrying 245 passengers, was inbound from Detroit. At the same time, a similar alert was set off on United Flight 1724, arriving from San Francisco, carrying 123 passengers and six crew members.
