Good Luck High Five

A lot went down in Magic Town this week, and we’re catching you up. We dig into the latest banned and restricted announcement (Competitive Brawl gets new commander bans, and Standard is apparently thriving, Meghan’s lifegain deck can confirm), get our first look at Darkhold Destiny, Marvel’s spooky new Universes Beyond set, and break down the big booster pack shake-up, including 1-in-1000 “God packs." We also send our congratulations to the Wizards of the Coast employees who are unionizing!

Reality Fracture is here, and after getting our hands dirty in the Draft queues, we have THOUGHTS! Maria, Meghan, and Tyler dig into the early data to figure out which color pairs are winning, which commons wildly overperformed expectations, which uncommons are basically mythics wearing fake mustaches, and why four toughness might just be the "magic number."
Come dink around with us as we break down one of the slower, more balanced, and delightfully complicated Draft formats we’ve played this year!

Sanity is in short supply this week as Meghan survives a Nyquil fever dream and Tyler the deep dark depths of the woods! But they brave the wilds of the GLHF studio to rank what Magic means to them, get thrown by a game of Scryfall randomizer ("Hot Frosty" is now an official unit of measurement), and make bold predictions on the best common in each color of Reality Fracture. Plus a prerelease report featuring not one--not two--but three Jaces at once.

Alchemy is being put out to pasture on Arena, so we pour one out, dig through Wizards' format data (93% of Standard is Best-of-One?!), and learn some more shocking truths about how people really plat MTG Arena. Then we take a tour through Jace's Echoverse to check in on the mirrored pairs from Reality Fracture! Who's thriving, who's an a-hole, and who got turned into a werewolf. Plus: one very load-bearing pair of moist frog thighs.
