Known for injecting her soul into her music, SUMIA also uses her own vocals in her tracks. In late 2023, she released a collaborative EP with Berghain resident Matrixxman, which gained notable support from BCCO and brought her major success on stage. She has also performed back-to-back with acclaimed artists like Indira Paganotto, AIROD, and Charlie Sparks.
Having previously reached #8 on Beatport with her track “Touch”, and consistently earning spots in the Top 100, SUMIA made waves once again with her latest EP on ARTCORE, which climbed to #8 on the global charts. Her standout single “Kill Mia” also gained international traction, ranking #12 worldwide and receiving widespread support.
As the founder and visionary behind Volx Community & Records, SUMIA is not only a DJ and producer, but also an activist artist devoted to using music as a tool for unity and change. She created the “Stronger Together” series — a collection of purpose-driven releases and charity events that fuse sound with social impact. The first compilation, featuring six international producers, supported earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. In October 2024, she organized a tree-planting charity event in Amsterdam, once again turning her label into a platform where music meets activism, nature, and solidarity. The series also includes a donation-based album to provide food for stray animals, extending Volx’s mission of compassion beyond the dance floor.
Characterized by raw synthesizers and deeply personal, self-recorded vocals, SUMIA’s sound tells captivating stories that transport listeners into alternate dimensions. Creating music with synths and dancing with ravers to her own tracks is her ultimate passion. From layered atmospheres to sharp, dark, and raw sound design, the limitless potential of music fuels her artistic vision. With each release and performance, SUMIA continues her unstoppable rise—lighting up dance floors and breaking boundaries around the world.
