In this week’s episode, I got to chat with Toby Poser and John Adams about how they each fell in love with horror, why they decided to start making movies as a family, and how they fell into the horror genre along the way. They told me about their process of writing scripts as a family, what they do when they have a disagreement on set, and what it’s like to film movies in their hometown in the Catskills. We also talk about the story for The Glorious Dead and its structure, as well as its future.

For our first episode of April, I have horror writer and death metal guitarist for Broken Hope Jeremy Wagner. He tells me how he got into horror way too young as a child, thanks in part to his mom, why he has such a huge love for 70’s and 80’s horror movies, and the genre of horror that he almost can’t handle. He also told me how he got into writing horror literature, what inspired the story in his newest novel Wretch, and who his personal favorite horror authors are, and so much more.

This week I am sharing a conversation with the co-writers and co-directors of an indie horror film called It Needs Eyes, Aaron Pagniano and Zack Ogle. It Needs Eyes is about what happens when a troubled teen moves to her aunt's coastal house, where she escapes into dark corners of the internet and her fixation on a mysterious missing woman's videos leads to disturbing discoveries about the digital underworld and her own secrets. It is a very jarring and disturbing movie that I really enjoyed watching. 

Zack and Aaron told me how they fell in love with horror, what kinds of horror still scares them, and why they love the subgenre of horror movies about women who are right but everyone thinks they’re crazy. They told me how they came up with the idea for It Needs Eyes and what the filming process was like.

This week I have an awesome conversation with filmmaker Addison Heimann about his new movie TOUCH ME. He revealed his all-time favorite horror movie, what life event led to him discovering his love for horror and watching 500 horror movies, and where the inspiration for Touch Me came from. He also spoke about how his cast came together, how Japanese exploitation films inspire his own filmmaking, and so much more. Touch Me will be released in theatres only in New York on this Friday, March 20th, then it will have a limited theatrical run on March 27th, and on April 7th you’ll be able to rent it on VOD.
