This week I’m chatting with playwright Levi Holloway about the stage adaptation of Paranormal Activity that he wrote and is currently touring the US, and also has a sit down production in the UK. He started by telling me how he got into seeing horror in the theatre when he was way too young, what scares him in horror movies today, and how he got the opportunity to adapt Paranormal Activity to the stage. He told me why he chose to write an entirely new story for this stage adaptation instead of replicating one from the movies, the ways he’s recreated the tension from the films onstage, and what it was like creating the scares with illusionist Chris Fisher.

This week I had the opportunity to speak with filmmakers Ken Arnold and Dan DeLuca about their newest film, A Town Called Purgatory. They told me where the idea for the horror western came from, how they ended up filming in Austria, and how they honored the Navajo lore that they used in the story. Ryan told me how he got involved with Night Patrol, why he loves vampires, and what scares him in horror movies today. On this week’s episode, I got to chatting with actor and director Emily Bennett. She has written, directed, and starred in films such as Alone With You and the upcoming Blood Shine. She told me how her upbringing in the church in Charleston, South Carolina contributed to her interest in horror, what still scares her in horror movies today, and what the filming process was for Blood Shine. She also told me about her new podcast that’s out now called The Tower where she speaks to creatives about their “tower” movies - the movies that changed everything for them.
