On this week’s episode I speak with horror critic and journalist Matthew Jackson. His writing has been featured in publications like  Bloody Disgusting, Pop Heist, and Fangoria and he also hosts a literary horror podcast called The Scares that Shaped Us. He revealed how he got into horror despite his parents not allowing it in their house, why he loves being scared, and his favorite horror books of the year so far. He also talked to me about the controversial horror movie that he genuinely likes and the director behind the films that he’s always had the most fun seeing in theatres, and more!

This week I had the opportunity to speak with director Jon Keeyes about his newest film Speed Demon. He’s been directing movies for 25 years and he sat down to tell me what drew him to the script for Speed Demon, how the cast came together, and whether the FX are practical or CGI. He also told me what drew him to horror movies when he was young and why thinks people love being scared. Speed Demon is in theatres and available on VOD everywhere now!

This week’s guest is horror TikToker Chris, though you probably know him online as StuffScaredChris. Chris is a content creator, Halloween haunt enthusiast, and a trivia host. He told me how he first fell in love with horror as a kid and how he used to celebrate Halloween twice a year growing up. He told me why he started making horror content on TikTok, offered advice for anyone starting out, and talked about why he started going to haunts and where his favorites have been, and so much more. He’s the author of the Edenville books which take place in a fictional town in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York. He told me what fascinates him the most in horror movies, what his writing process is, and his personal favorite horror authors.
