30th of Imam Hussain and Wafat of Bibi SakinaJuly 25th, 202610th Safar 1448Imam Husayn's mission was to reform the Ummah through al-amr bil ma'ruf and an-nahy 'anil munkar, not merely political opposition.Quran 9:71 places commanding good and forbidding evil before prayer and zakat when describing the characteristics of a believing community.Imam Ali (a) explained that when amr and nahy are upheld, all other religious obligations remain protected.The obligation of amr bil ma'ruf has conditions: knowledge, likelihood of effectiveness, and avoiding serious harm.The three levels are the heart, the tongue, and the hand, progressing according to circumstances and authority.Social activism in Islam must consider time, place, and the surrounding political and social environment rather than applying one method everywhere.Muslims living as minorities, such as in Canada, face different realities than Muslims living in majority-Shia countries.Passion for activism should be balanced with wisdom, experience, and preserving community unity.The lives of the Ahlul Bayt demonstrate that different circumstances require different strategies while pursuing the same divine objectives.Imam Hasan (a) and Imam Husayn (a) adopted different approaches because their circumstances differed, not because of differences in courage.Imam Husayn (a) himself remained patient during Mu'awiyah's rule before acting against Yazid when conditions changed.Zayd ibn Ali's uprising was supported by Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a), yet the Imams themselves pursued educational jihad according to their responsibilities.Revolutionary action is not the only form of jihad; teaching, scholarship, and preserving authentic Islam are equally vital forms of struggle.Imam Zaynul Abidin (a) taught that true jihad requires righteous believers possessing the qualities listed in Quran 9:112.The lecture concludes with the sacrifices of Imam Sajjad (a) and Sayyidah Sakina (a), reminding believers that preserving the message of Karbala also took the form of patience, remembrance, and education.Donate towards our programs today: https://jaffari.org/donate/Jaffari Community Centre (JCC Live)

Friday Juma KhutbaFriday July 17th, 20262nd Safar 1448 AHThe struggle between truth and falsehood began with Adam (AS) and Iblis and has continued throughout human history.The conflict continued through the story of Cain and Abel and in the missions of Prophets Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa (AS).After failing to stop Islam from outside, Satan sought to corrupt it from within the Muslim community.Key Qur'anic teachings and the Prophet's divinely ordained succession were gradually undermined after his demise.Within fifty years, the khilafah transformed into a hereditary monarchy under Mu'awiyah, who appointed Yazid as his successor.Yazid represented the peak of internal corruption by openly challenging Islam, the Prophet's mission, and the Qur'an.Imam Husayn (AS) alone possessed the divine authority, knowledge, and character to confront Yazid's rule.Karbala established that Islam must be judged by divine principles—not by the actions of rulers.Allama Iqbal's poetry presents Husayn and Yazid as the culmination of the eternal struggle between truth and falsehood.Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (AS) describes Imam Husayn (AS) as the heir (Warith) of all the great prophets and the righteous throughout history.The battle between Husayn and Yazid continues symbolically in every generation through new forms of oppression and deviation.Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF) will complete this struggle, and his companions will rally under the slogan "Ya Li Tharati al-Husayn."Karbala remains the guiding light that protects believers from confusion, hypocrisy, and distorted versions of Islam.Love and loyalty to Imam Husayn (AS) serve as a decisive test of sincere faith, while he remains the Ark of Salvation.Preserving the memory of Karbala prepares believers spiritually and morally for the mission of Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF).Donate towards our programs today: https://jaffari.org/donate/Jaffari Community Centre (JCC Live)
