None But The Brave

In the first episode of the seventh season of None But The Brave, co-hosts Hal Schwartz and Flynn McLean are very excited to be joined by Al Teller, who has had a legendary career in the record industry. Most importantly to listeners of this show, Teller was the President of Columbia Records from 1981-1985, which coincided with the period that Bruce Springsteen released Nebraska and Born In The USA. In a wide ranging conversation, Hal and Flynn talk to Teller about hearing both of those records for the first time, his thoughts on the Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere film adaptation (where he was played by David Krumholtz), and they also get his insight on the state of the music industry today.

The final night of a 5 show stand, this marked Bruce's first appearance in the city since the Born In The USA Tour. The show features several unreleased songs and is notable for also being the only show on the tour with both Bruce's The Ghost of Tom Joad and Woody Guthrie's Tom Joad. At the start of the episode, Hal and Flynn discuss the announcement by the Bruce Springsteen Center For American Music about this year's American Music Honors event and they also touch on the upcoming Springsteen Record Store Release at the end.
