André, Estate Manager at Waltham Place, was on Gardeners' World 2026 episode 10 when he gave Frances Tophill an insight into biodynamic farming.

On this episode of Chit-Chats, we dig a little deeper into the principles and practices, some of which leave us picking our jaws up off the floor, but as André says, "don't say no, say OH"!

We also find out about the importance of diversity in our planting, avoiding F1 hybrid seeds, André's dreams of a log cabin in Devon, the 3 million strong event he organised, his love of the versatile hawthorn, and the under-rated and humble plant he and King Charles recently bonded over.

On Gardeners' World this week, Adam Frost joins Head Gardener Chris Marchand for a meander around the walled garden at Holme Hale Hall in Swaffham, and Maurice Biggins shows us his beautiful Mediterranean style garden in Westley Waterless in East Cambridgeshire. Frances Tophill meets Head Gardener Neil Coldrick at Clovelly Walled Garden in Devon and has a cuppa with Clovelly resident Sharon King, before we head to the Isle of Wight to meet Head Gardener team Ellen and Ali Penstone-Smith who show us around the former home of Alfred Lord Tennyson at Farringford Gardens.

Liz was on Gardeners' World 2026 episode 10 when she showed us how to forage in our own back gardens, putting ground elder, nettles and Honesty in a whole new edible light. On this episode we find out about the little book that opened up a whole new world of foraging for Liz, how to use plants to stimulate hair-growth, enjoying the sound of rain on a tin roof, and the amazingly delicious and nutritious leaf salads we can make from trees.

We also make a major U-turn on Japanese knotweed, as we learn what an incredible, under-appreciated, over-demonised plant it actually is.

And did you know there's more vitamin C in the leaves of blackcurrant than in the fruit? We didn't either🤷🏼‍♀️
