Nathan Smythe interviewed by Hunter Lowry
Hunter Lowry interviews Nathan Smythe, who played several roles in "Purgatory, Missouri" including various carnies, pinbots and The Void. Nathan is a man of a trillion voices. When he stepped up to the mic during the audition, I said “Go over the top on this.” That was the scene at the end of Episode 4 when Thirty Eight encounters his first Pinbot. When his cold read was finished, Richard, Maureen, Allyson and I looked at each other like a hurricane just blew back our hair. Recording the scene in the studio with Dave Foley, he delivered again. Hunter was wiping back tears. Along with his alter ego of "DJ Nate" spinning records around town, he has voiced numerous commercials, video games and anime. You have heard him in White Castle commercials, Japanese anime TV shows, gamers know him from his work on the English version of “Fighting Spirit”, “Victorious Boxers: Revolution”, and many, many more. For more information on "Purgatory, Missouri", please visit our website: https://www.stuartpearsonmusic.com/purgatory-missouri

"Purgatory, Missouri" is a supernatural thriller that asks the question: can sleep and the Afterlife collide? It stars Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall, Fargo), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers, The Goldbergs), Crissy Guerrero (In the Heights, American Mariachi) and Alina Foley (The Spy Next Door, The League). In "Purgatory, Missouri", an epileptic woman falls into a coma and finds herself in a grimy, rundown carnival, where the sky is grey and danger is everywhere. Each Newcomer gradually loses their memories of who they were while the carnival itself seems to be ripping apart. Why do people meander aimlessly in a constant state of terror? Trouble is everywhere - are you ready? You can find out more about the show and the Dark Americana songs it was based on at https://www.stuartpearsonmusic.com/purgatory-missouri-home
