Our stories today lean into the romance and sentimental feelings of the summer. We’ll start with In the Kitchen, During a Storm, as the wind picks up and the Pomodoro sauce simmers on the stove. This story, by the way, mentions alcohol, in case that doesn’t work for you and you need to skip it. Then we’ll put the river on our left and roll down the windows as we visit The Turnaround; we’ll look out at the lighthouses and creep close to the shore to listen to the water lap at the rocks. Finally, we’ll follow the call of a summer evening out to the park where a memory, long forgotten, arises in Someplace Only We Know.

The Library and Slow Living
Our stories today take us through some ways folks in the Village are spending their days and evenings in the early summer. We’ll start by laying the table under the string lights in the garden and pulling up chairs with friends in The Dinner Bell. Then we’ll see where the night takes us, from the park to the lot on the edge of town, with bubbles and blankets in at The Drive-In. Finally, we’ll slow down, take some deep breaths, and reset by arriving Early to Yoga.

Wind, Rain, and Hummingbirds (Encore)
Originally presented as Episode 26, June 10, 2024
Our stories today celebrate some of the joys of being outside in the changing weather of the summer. First in Wind and Wildflowers, we’ll hike the trail behind the house, listen for woodpeckers, and watch the grasses sway in the wind. Then in Rain and Shine, we’ll finish up some work in the garden, take a long hot shower, and eat dinner on the porch, as the storm rolls in. Finally, in Hummingbird, after a good night’s sleep, we’ll step outside with a glass of iced coffee and meet the morning and any visitors coming to breakfast from the flowers.
