First Watch: Killer Clown “Mister Jazz” Dies in Court & the McDonald’s Murder
James Anderson spent years entertaining children as a party clown, bringing laughter wherever he went. But behind the smiles and balloon animals was a man unraveling. In 2023, his wife, Victoria was dead, and their three-year-old son was covered in her blood. Two years after her murder, James slipped something from his pocket, swallowed it, and collapsed in the courtroom…ending his life before the judge could say a word. Then, Katie investigates a case in Michigan, where a McDonald’s manager named Jennifer Harris was finishing another morning shift when one of her employees, 27-year-old Afeni Muhammad, stormed back inside clutching a knife. Minutes later, Jennifer lay dead on the restaurant floor. With a heated Instagram video as evidence and a trial slated for later this month, Afeni could find herself behind bars for her crime.

True Crime This Week: Infamous Heists
This week on True Crime This Week, host Vanessa Richardson dives into two of history’s most daring and unforgettable heists.First, journey to Nazi-occupied France, where art curator Rose Valland risked her life to secretly track thousands of stolen masterpieces — including Nicolas de Largillierre’s Portrait of a Woman, Half Length — and later helped the famed Monuments Men recover Europe’s looted treasures. Then, ride back to the Wild West for the tale of Black Bart, the gentleman bandit who robbed 28 Wells Fargo stagecoaches without ever firing a shot — and left behind poetry instead of bloodshed. From stolen art to outlaw artistry, these two crimes prove that not all heists are created equal — but every thief eventually faces the same reckoning.

Night Watch: Devil in the Ozarks: Inmate Uses Costume to Escape Prison
He asked a victim if she recognized his voice. Years later, DNA answered: he was Grant Hardin, a cop, police chief, and convicted rapist. After pleading to murdering James Appleton in 2017 and being convicted of the 1997 rape of Amy Harrison, Hardin drew 80 years in prison. Yet in 2025 he turned a kitchen apron into a “vest,” a marker-dyed shirt into a “uniform,” and a soup-can lid into a “badge,” then sauntered out of a prison. This Halloween, Katie dives deep into the Ozarks that swallowed him for 14 days, describing the floodwaters and the massive search that pinned him just 1.5 miles from the prison fence. Now in a supermax prison and charged with second-degree escape, Hardin’s due in court next month.
