After last episode’s battle with the Arbotank, Team Rocket is going to have to pull something out really bug, I mean, big, if they want to take on the twerps! This time we see the party continuing on their journey when they stumble upon Charicific Valley, which you guessed it, is filled with Charizard. We meet Liza, and her Charizard Charla, who operates a Charizard Sanctuary with a unique approach to training Charizards.

While Brock falls in love, we see Ash put his Charizard to the test in both battle and loyalty. Ash feels a bit too over confident, and we see that his Charizard isn’t as formidable as he thinks. There are many clashes between Charizard, with some that are nearly twice the size of Ash’s. 

Team Rocket shows up not with an Arbotank, but with a giant Big Catcher trojan horse abomination, as they shift their sights from Pikachu to Charizard. We get to see a bit of Jesse and James’ softer sides, as they actually end up cheering for Ash’s Charizard in battle. That is of course, until they get blasted off… again.

Gotta Watch’em All Podcast 128: For Crying Out Loud

As we settle back in to releasing the Podcast, we have figured out what our plan is for episodes going forward. Starting next week with Episode 129, audio podcasts will be released on all platforms and the video podcast will be available on Patreon!

In this week’s episode we are watching, “For Crying Out Loud”, which brings our party back out on the adventurous path. With Ash feeling confident after defeating Falkner and earning the Zephyr Badge, this episode gives Misty a shot to show us what she is made of. When a wild Marill crosses paths with the group, it takes them on a fun side quest where they meet Wilhomena, who Brock of course immediately falls for.

Team Rocket makes two appearances this episode and we do get some solid battling, with Misty showing that she has earned Pikachu’s respect by leading it in a battle. This episode gives us a bit of everything, from humor to action. This fun detour will lead us to Ash and crew soon reaching Azalea Town, which is the next Gym on Ash’s radar.

The Gotta Watch’em All Podcast is BACK! After a seriously long hiatus, we are back to watch along with the anime! Adam has decided to step back from the podcast to focus on Lured Up and Special Conditions, so Lane from Good Morning Johto is taking his chair!

This week we are watching “Fighting Fire with Flyer!”. This episode originally aired in Japan on January, 20th, 2000 and December, 16, 2000 in the States. We get to see Ash do what he does best (sorta) and that is battle Gym Leaders for Badges! Ash and the party reach the Violet Gym in hopes of earning his first Johto Badge! An encounter with the Gym Leader, Falkner, leads to some serious Flying-Type battles. This episode is packed with action and we get to see some great battling in a Gym setting.

A great takeaway from this episode is about the bond that a Trainer makes with his Pokémon, and how important it is to know their limits. Ash finds balance between pushing his Pokémon too far, and motivating them to Train at their maximum potential.
