DISCLAIMER: Discussion of violence and murder involving small children

Who is Lindsay Clancy and what is she being accused of doing? What has happened so far in court? What evidence has been presented to show that she snapped and harmed her children while her husband was out on an errand? Were any other possibilities investigated?

These are the questions this pod aims to address. We begin with background of who Lindsay Clancy is, her work as a labor and delivery nurse, her marriage, the births of her children, her post partum struggles, and her life as a mom in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Then, we focus on learning about the night of January 24, 2023. Including what Lindsay's husband, Patrick, stated happened and his perspective on the months prior, as shared at trial and via interviews and published articles. From there, we look at what has been presented thus far regarding the crime scene, cyber analysis, cell data, Lindsay's injuries, her diary and notes, her doctors and prescriptions, and most importantly, the timeline of events. Lingering questions and observations, along with possible alternative events, are discussed at the end.

An impromptu side quest about Pete Hegseth leads us into a musty quagmire of booze and sexism, all under the weary eye of his disapproving mother. Lastly, why Capital One says they closed 300 Trump accounts for suspected money laundering, how DOGE helped America become the land of cyclospora, and how making Dr. Fauci's diary public uncovered the utter hypocrisy of a boring racist and her bald mayo rat who both grandstand about wanting him jailed.

Who are the Tate brothers and why was their arrest in Miami earlier this month a big deal? What are their connections to the current administration? How have they been able to continue amassing wealth and online attention amidst longstanding allegations of abuse of women and children? How were they able to fly to the U.S. despite a travel ban and while charged with sex trafficking?

This pod walks through the known origins of Andrew and Tristan Tate, two toxic pillars of a hellish grift referred to as the "manosphere", and addresses the questions above. The correlations to Epstein abound, with several familiar names making cameos. We also delve into what young women have stated happened to them at the hands of the Tate brothers, and we review statements the brothers have made that show an ethos, bravado, and ego that seem to blatantly contradict their claims of innocence. What becomes clear, is that the analog era of modelling agencies and referrals Epstein relied on to recruit victims has been replaced with the immediate access social media allows via one quick DM. Understanding modern sex trafficking is vital in any setting, but especially in a country where nothing is being done about abusers revealed from the Epstein files.

After catching up on Salt Lake City divorce drama and the mediocre manosphere that I believe contributed to it, we jump into a review of the psychological "horror" film, Obsession. An instant classic, Obsession tells the story of a cowardly man's choice to put his crush under a spell to love him, rather than muster the courage to express his feelings and accept whatever hers may be. His choice to force his will upon her has devastating consequences for her, for him, and their entire community, but his resolve to have her love him remains. The movie is layered and filled with clues about motivations and messages regarding both the characters and the script. It's a powerful cautionary tale about how quiet, polite, unassuming men can still be dangerous and how narcissism, patriarchy, and fear can warp understanding what love is and isn't.

Then, a review of the book Yesteryear, by Caro Claire Burke, another psychological ride. This one takes you into the mind of a "modern day trad wife" as her commitment to being a perfect, content generating, wife and mother plays out. With a fixation on a life mirroring that of the early frontier and wild west, Natalie, strives to project a specific image and aesthetic. Yet, she hides the unsavory truth of her hard forged reality, perhaps to herself most of all. While the main hook is Natalie suddenly waking up in the early 1800's, the book's observations on centering men, the roles women play to enable that illusion, and the high stakes of religious extremism, are also primary topics.

We close with my plug for a series of books that I've recently discovered, the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. The series begins by introducing a girl named Juliette as she's trapped in an asylum due to her dangerous supernatural powers. From there, it evolves into a dystopian, la resistance, self acceptance, enemies to lovers arc - with a love triangle. I'll do a more thorough review when I finish all the books! Both Yesteryear and Shatter Me are currently being adapted into theatrical releases.

When looking into Jeffrey Epstein's abusive world, Eva Andersson-Dubin appears to be the origin for his delusions that the girls and women he victimized would eventually prosper due to their involvement with him...if they were obedient. Known as his former girlfriend, Eva Dubin stayed in Epstein's life, providing him with the useful expertise of a doctor and seemingly benefitting from his wealth and contacts. Her husband and children had their own relationships with Epstein. He called himself godfather to Eva's children and, as emails and documents show, had a particular interest in her oldest daughter, Celina. In an effort to better understand the nature and depth of these connections, as well as the allegations against the Dubins as levied by Virginia Giuffre and others, we walk through what has been stated by Epstein survivors. Additionally, we look at personal communications via Epstein's email, articles detailing business connections, and from testimony and depositions given as a part of Ghislaine Maxwell's trial.
