The Animal Communication Podcast

This week we're asking the question that we’re passionate about: why does animal communication matter right now, in this moment, in this world? Not as a curiosity, and never as a party trick, but as something sacred and necessary. Each of us comes to this work from a different place, so we start there, with our own why: Meredith's lifelong pull toward listening and counseling, now finding its fullest expression through the animals; Karen's story of being woken up again and again since a childhood encounter with a gorilla at the zoo, and how reconnecting with the animals got her out of bed on the hardest days; and Julie's experience of collective grief and unmooring since her dad's passing, and the sense that the animals aren't ignoring any of it, they're strengthening the invitation to come back.

Karen shares what disconnection from animals and nature actually costs us physically and energetically, right down to the organs and meridians. Meredith traces the thread through mythology and folklore, and tells the story of a hummingbird in her backyard that reminded her that nature doesn't need to follow the rules we've built around it.

We talk honestly about skepticism, what it means to ask someone for just a tiny thread of potential, and why "proof" might be a standard the collective is finally outgrowing. There's a detour into a lecture on the difference between knowledge, knowing, and wisdom, and how that maps onto Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine balance.

And, of course, we come back to our own animals and what they're teaching us this season: Lukas asking Julie to rest, play, and trust more; Barnabas showing Meredith a whole new level of calm in the face of backyard chaos; and Karen's cats reflecting the steadiness she's finally found amid a big life transition. Our animals aren't waiting for us to be ready. They're already communicating. The question is simply, are we listening?

This week, Lora Lee Medley, founder of Moon Mojo Feline, intuitive animal communicator, and certified holistic cat practitioner, joins the podcast for a conversation that reminds us there are no bad cats, only cats responding to the energy around them. Lora Lee's own journey began with her cat Monty's kidney disease diagnosis, which led her to Reiki, and deepened through her cat Emmett's health struggles into crystal healing, herbalism, cat chakras, and animal communication, eventually training under Sylvie Sterlin to become a certified holistic cat practitioner working with the soul-level purpose, or archetype, each cat carries.

The conversation includes her Feline Essentials Herb Gardens she co-created, dried herb blends cats select for themselves through the art of self-selection, and how a cat's chakras, colors, and physical positioning can reveal exactly what they're working to release. Lora Lee walks us through her signature philosophy, No Bad Cats, unpacking how inappropriate urination, fighting between housemates, and sudden shifts in behavior are never about a cat being difficult; they're a cat absorbing and reflecting the unprocessed energy, stress, or emotion of the humans they love.

You’ll hear how her own cats Bodie and Zazzles taught her to recognize her own emotional patterns before conflict could even begin, how a client's skittish foster cat found safety through a story of protection and belonging, and how Lora Lee's sixteen cats, thirteen of them black, have deepened not just her practice but her own capacity for connection, respect, and the shadow work none of us particularly want to do but all of us are better for doing. It's a conversation full of heart, humor, and a reminder that our cats aren't just companions; they're teachers, healers, mirrors, and guides, showing us how to live more fully awake if we're willing to pay attention.

In this episode of The Animal Communication Podcast, Julie, Karen, and Meredith sit down with Intuitive Katja Wostradowski, a long-time friend and colleague rooted in Nordic ancestry, now living and working in the Sacred Valley of Peru.

Katja shares the extraordinary arc of her journey: growing up in atheist East Germany, where her natural sensitivity and deep connection to animals had no space to unfold; relocating to London for a career as a German teacher; and then following an inexplicable, years-long calling to South America that eventually led her to Bolivia and finally, to Peru.

Along the way, she discovered the work of Danielle McKinnon, which helped her make sense of the intuitive awakening she was experiencing, and she began to understand how the land, the mountains, and the indigenous traditions of the Andes were alive and speaking to her.

Katja opens up about the profound healing journey she undertook with her partners Roxana and Oscar - a process rooted in ancestral biography, Bach flowers, ritual, and the sacred medicine of cacao, and how her son's birth became the catalyst that cracked her open to her own depths.

She also takes us into her life as an animal communicator and intuitive channel in the Sacred Valley: communicating with the corn, the pond, and the mountains in her garden; working with sacred cacao as a gentle bridge to the heart; and participating in a years-long series of collective healing fires aimed at reconciliation between cultures and the healing of ancestral wounds.

An episode about the courage of following your calling, the solitary nature of the spiritual path, the wisdom that lives in the land and how coming home to yourself changes everything.
