In a very unexpected twist, every party involved agreed to "refinements" to the Formula 1 2026 regulations in a vote managed by the FIA. Even Toto Wolff and Mercedes agreed to changes which do affect energy management quite a bit more than the team hoped for. Why? Because there might be a bigger encounter to prepare for in due course. The ADUO.

At the same time, this successful ruling and the changes planned in time for Miami and beyond do prove something to a tune that will please Max Verstappen. They are a start, but will they be enough to appease the Formula One driver and fans irate with the rules? We shall see, but hey! At least the drivers were heard this time.

Just hours before a crucial vote on Formula 1's 2026 roadmap for the Miami Grand Prix and beyond, the FIA's main man Ben Sulayem spoke up about what he had been up to and what his governance is striving for the most: safety.

In a fascinating interview with the High Performance podcast, former Ferrari team boss Jean Todt revealed some fascinating tidbits regarding the relationship between the Scuderia and two of F1's most powerful drivers of the 1990s: Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.

Had things played out slightly differently, both men's legacies within Formula 1 could've been rather different. In fact, the whole upper echelon of the GRID would've been different.

As F1 scrambles for a quick fix to their 2026 cars, Formula E's about to throw a party!

It's clear that Formula 1 in 2026 isn't quite sure what it wants to be, after massive consumer backlash and concerns from its own drivers. Meetings are being held to figure out how to pivot away from the 50-50 split in due course, back to more focus on the combustion engine. How long will take take? It depends on the manufacturers like Mercedes, Ferrari and Audi and Honda.

On the other side, Formula E is about to release is fourth-generation machine to the world around Paul Ricard. After over a decade of development, THIS is the ultimate electric racing car...and it looks amazing. And oh yes! Its speeds are getting ever closer to F1. I would call this an embarassing moment form Formula One...and maybe a sign of moving away from electrification; so as to have two premium single seater motorsports under FIA governance.

Oliver Bearman just brought up his crash again.

In an interview with F1 podcast Up To Speed, Haas Formula 1 driver Oliver Bearman recalled the actions of Franco Colapinto and deemed them "unacceptable". His interview started to show me a pattern forming. One which we saw with Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson and Lance Stroll last year. Drivers with less standing in Formula One and whose jobs are far less secure are seeing narrative blowback done to them from this driver.

Is Ollie Bearman the villain here? No, he's got his own cause to fight for: a Ferrari seat. However, this stance is a very precarious one considering the evidence from Suzuka doesn't really back him up; nor did his team boss or the FIA...not even the telemetry could.
