Miami looked like Red Bull’s first proper step forward in F1 2026. Max Verstappen finally had a car he could trust...but Isack Hadjar had the kind of weekend that makes every Red Bull second driver quivver with fear...and narratives spread.

To me? It seems like the Red Bull curse might not have revolved around Horner, Marko or simple impatience. It might nside the car's technical team. One that keeps dragging Red Bull back toward Verstappen’s exact preferences time and time again. Did Red Bull fix the RB22...or only fix Max’s RB22?

It's clear the 2026 regulations for Formula 1 are not perfect. In fact, they've already been proved a failure of sorts. How did this happen? Well, the engine makers looked at what the road market was doing and thought they knew the future. They didn't.

Now, the FIA and its president is making it clear that come 2031, a much simpler Formula One will return. 2030, if enough makers back him. If they don't? Well, there's the door.

Curiously enough, this year's Formula One Grand Prix was quite a good one at the Miami Autodrome. There were overtakes, action and the rain never came. We had several drivers up for pole and the win and the best thing? Very little talk about the terms that had been annoying many Formula 1 fans over 2026. Things like deployment, harvesting, superclipping. No major dramas regarding the restriction of information from FOM.

It felt...normal. Kinda. If we could get more races like this, might 2026 prove to be tolerable enough for most fans? As long as there's a compelling battle for the title?

The 2026 Formula 1 Miami GP was a race to remember...in that it was worth remembering. For a track not held in high regard, this was the place where Formula One test its new patches to the regulations...and they produced a good race. Four teams were in contention for pole and there was a lot of chatter about the racing rather than the artifical nature of them, which can only be good. Not to mention that Williams secured vital points and Franco Colapinto gave his team Alpine his best ever race result after Charles Leclerc had one of the worst laps of his F1 career.

Who else won, lost or was just plain meh?
