Supercomputing in Europe

This episode's guests are Caspar van Leeuwen, Machine Learning Consultant at SURF and Helena Vela Beltran, Computational Scientist at HPCNow and Do IT Now Spain.
They are both working at the MultiXscale CoE and the EESSI project, the European Environment for Scientific Software Installations, a common stack of scientific software installations for HPC systems and beyond, including laptops,personal workstations and cloud infrastructure.

This episode’s guest is Bastian Koller who is the Managing Director at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) as well as the coordinator of the EuroCC 2 project, among others.
The conversation explores the role of the EuroCC national competence centre in the increasingly diverse European HPC and AI ecosystem answering questions like: what is a national competence centre (NCC)? How does it differ from a Centre of excellence (CoE), AI Factory, or European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH)? What is the role of the NCC going forward?
