David Freiburger and Scotto on How Roadkill Happened, Road Trip Therapy & Why Old Cars Just Win

    12-08-2026 | 2 u. 41 Min.
“Don’t get it right; just get it running!” - words we could all stand to live by! This week we welcome David Freiburger, colossus of the automotive world who alongside Scotto, forms a mildly senior (sorry.. ‘Authoritative’ ! ) coalition of men yelling at clouds. Though you may know him best from his adventures with Roadkill alongside Mike Finnegan, David’s roots in the car world go back to magazines, with storied career chapters spent at the wheel of multiple titles. Making the jump to video, he put in time at MotorTrend and now, his own YouTube channel. In this hugely wide-ranging conversation, the gents litigate everything from the glory days of heavy metal (Dokken anyone?), to Drag Week and countless records and tales from the drag-strip, even including hearing damage. Crucially though, could David be the guest that finally causes the blind to see and the lame to walk? By which of course I mean poor Scotto, and his unfinished projects – dear Lord, we need a miracle! As ever, enjoy.

Topic Roulette | ACH Drivers vs Takeovers, Top Summer Whips, Flock Gymkhana & More!

    05-08-2026 | 1 u. 40 Min.
Back by popular demand, it’s Topic Roulette! Very Vehicular is proud to present returning guests and friends of the pod: Mr Zachary and Vin Anatra to do conversational battle (aka banter and bullsh*t) with Scotto. We know you love ‘em, you’ve asked and we’ve delivered – all the hottest takes in a 94 degree garage with no AC (scandalous working conditions I may add!). Grab a cold one and pull up a chair - Vinnie’s got his ball-peen hammer out and he’s taking requests. Really, don’t ask. Enjoy!

45 Days in Jail For Making a Car Video - Was It Worth It? | Blake Wilkey Tells ALL

    29-07-2026 | 1 u. 57 Min.
Whoa, dude! If it isn’t Off-Road Spicoli: the urban legend behind Urban Assault, king of the dirt and crown prince of the waves – Blake Wilkey! Arriving from his native San Diego with a warm smile and a glint in his eye, you just know this mystical rad-man has wild stories to relate. From his earliest days on the water, to his mechanical upbringing in the dirt, he found his way to mythic status when he turned his hand to building bugs (some of them, you may just have heard before!). Before long, that mischievous gleam in his eye landed upon his own city, and when Urban Assault exploded across the internet in 2016, his legend was as cemented as perhaps the most radical (..ok, nefarious) character in the automotive space. Now, he’s here to tell the full tale as well as his other antics, including the NORRA, Baja, his own brand Shreddy Lyfe and his latest diabolical creation…. the death boat? So! Turn on, tune in and drop out to this freestylin’, tube-wave-ridin’ conversation. As ever, enjoy!

The First Automotive Influencer? | RJ de Vera's life in Cars from The Fast and the Furious to SEMA

    22-07-2026 | 3 u. 9 Min.
Very Vehicular welcomes RJ de Vera! Each season we like to bring on a guest from inside the automotive industry whose position and experience helps us better understand the issues facing car culture, and while RJ is more than qualified in that regard, there’s more that he’s done… much more! He was a foundational part of the import scene in the 90s, working as a writer and photographer for Super Street before ascending to Editor at Large. He was the go-to guy on the scene consulting for a plethora of OEMs and brands looking to break off a little piece of the magic for themselves. He even had a role in a notable movie franchise - word to the wise is he’s still collecting residual checks for his on-screen role to this day. Trading the underground for a storied chapter in the corporate world (twelve years at 3M / Meguiars no less), he’s now taken his rightful place atop the mountain as Vice President of Marketing at SEMA. Of most interest to us though? He’s a fully paid-up, card-carrying car nerd, with extraordinary stories and an insight into car culture you won’t want to miss. Enjoy!

Gen X vs Millenial vs Gen Z | Car Culture. Takeovers, EVs, Hypercars & Burble Tune

    08-07-2026 | 2 u. 21 Min.
It’s the Battle of the Generations on Very Vehicular this week, as our three guests debate their views on car culture. Representing Gen X is your host, Scotto. In the tastefully grey (or is it green these days?) Millennial corner, it’s returning friend of the pod, Ron Zaras, and lastly, hoisting the flag for all of Gen Z, we’ve got newcomer Chaz Warren (@ChazzyDawg). Chazzy made his name in the world of film photography, where his visceral style found viral success on Instagram, his camera acting as a passport to a world of cars he’d only dreamed of being able to approach. Now, alongside working for big names in the industry, he’s set his sights on creating his own culture of photo-forward meets, where the old rules don’t apply, as he brings community to legions of young car worshippers, whether they’re toting analog or digital machinery. So whether you’re prehistoric; or barely old enough to sneak out of the house unhindered by your parents tracking you on Life360, find out what this unusual council makes of it all. Enjoy.
