SSPX priest Fr. Ahead of Pope Leo XIV's planned visit to Peru, Peruvian canon lawyer Msgr. Ricardo Coronado-Arrascue joins John-Henry Westen to discuss the controversy surrounding Pachamama and indigenous religious practices. Coronado describes Pachamama as rooted in pre-Christian Andean religion and argues that a modern "indigenous theology" has attempted to elevate indigenous culture alongside the Gospel, producing religious syncretism.
Asked whether Pope Leo might participate in a Pachamama-related ceremony during his visit, Coronado says he does not expect that to happen.
