In this episode of Digitel Talk, recorded live at Connected Britain 2025, host Ian Ginn sits down with Elizabeth Anderson, CEO of the Digital Poverty Alliance, to discuss how we can close the UK’s growing digital divide.Elizabeth reveals that 19 million people across the UK are affected by some form of digital poverty — whether through lack of access, affordability, or basic digital skills. She shares powerful stories from the Tech for Families programme, which has helped thousands of households connect to education, employment, and essential services for the first time.Together, Ian and Elizabeth explore the human and economic cost of digital exclusion, the role of tech companies in bridging the gap, and why circular economy initiatives — such as refurbishing unused devices — are key to a more inclusive digital future. This conversation is a wake-up call and a hopeful roadmap for a digitally fairer Britain.Links & Resources:Connected Britain 2025Digital Poverty AllianceTech for Families Programme Currys Donation Network Guest BioElizabeth Anderson is CEO of the Digital Poverty Alliance, which aims to end digital poverty in the UK once and for all.
