AOC’s Egg-Freezing Story Could Launch Her Presidential Run

    17-08-2026 | 51 Min.
Jessica Tarlov is joined by New York Times national political correspondent Shane Goldmacher, to check in on where the midterms stand with primary season almost wrapped up. With the results from Michigan and Wisconsin, Jess and Shane break down what voters are signaling to the Democratic Party. Is this a Tea Party-style insurgency from the left, or something more complicated?

Could Michigan Senate candidate and progressive Abdul El-Sayed be a difference maker or a liability in a state Trump won in 2024? Shane also assesses where Republicans stand amidst low approval ratings for Trump, a tough economic backdrop — but with a significant advantage in terms of cash on hand about to be deployed in ad buys across the country.

The Democratic Party has officially announced that South Carolina and Nevada will hold the first primaries of the 2028 presidential election cycle — a deliberate move to prioritize Black voters, who make up roughly two-thirds of South Carolina's Democratic electorate, as well as Latino voters and labor interests with significant sway in Nevada.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has gone public sharing her egg-freezing journey. Shane and Jessica discuss why this kind of personal storytelling resonates with voters — and what AOC's political future might actually look like, whether or not that includes a run for President in 2028. How can she navigate the tension she's likely to face from the Democratic establishment? And finally: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is stepping down at the end of the month. What legacy does she leave and who should replace her?

America, Actually: Who Wants Kamala to run again?

    11-08-2026 | 29 Min.
Raging Moderates is taking a short break this week, but we’ve got a great episode from Vox’s America, Actually with Astead Herndon.

We’ll be back with regular episodes on August 17th.

Despite a bruising defeat in the 2024 presidential election, early polling has Kamala Harris ahead of major Democratic alternatives like Gavin Newsom and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for a 2028 run. Her loyal base says that another White House bid feels like an opportunity to build a real campaign free from the constraints of last time. But there’s a lot of division behind the scenes. This week, Vox’s Astead Herndon travels to a picnic in the crucial primary state of South Carolina to ask voters directly what they think. And then, Astead talks with the prominent Democratic donor John Morgan, who says it’s time to turn the page on the Biden-Harris era entirely.

00:36 Is Kamala Harris running for president (again?)02:20 Democratic insiders make the case for Harris 202805:16 Taking the question to South Carolina voters06:37 Is America ready for a Black woman president?08:56 The generational divide12:25 The “third time’s a charm” perspective18:08 What Democratic donors are thinking24:32 The push for a fresh Democratic bench25:51 Counting the votes from South Carolina

This show was edited by Kasia Broussalian, fact-checked by Sarah Schweppe, mixed by Shannon Mahoney, video edited by Christopher Snyder, and hosted by Astead Herndon.

    10-08-2026 | 45 Min.
America has questions — and Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov have answers. In this summer mailbag episode, they tackle listener questions about such topics as: the future of the Democratic Party, whether America’s political system can recover from the Trump era, why election fraud claims persist despite a lack of evidence, and what Americans really mean when they talk about socialism and communism.

Plus, they discuss the true meaning of socialism, Scott’s ideal night in New York City, and what’s giving them hope in this turbulent political moment.

Blanche Gets Through Committee as Michigan's Senate Primary Goes to the Polls

Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov break down a packed Tuesday, starting with the Senate Judiciary Committee vote advancing Todd Blanche's Attorney General confirmation. Senators Cornyn and Tillis issued a joint statement thanking Blanche for terminating the anti-weaponization fund and limiting Trump's IRS audit deal — but critics are flagging loopholes in the written agreements, and Democrats were vocal in their objections during today's hearing. Scott and Jessica ask what Cornyn and Tillis actually achieved, why they ultimately caved, and what Trump's growing involvement in the DOJ means for the department's long-term independence.

Meanwhile, Jeanine Pirro met with Trump at the White House yesterday after he publicly said she "choked" in her handling of the reflecting pool vandalism case. She was seen leaving with a box and a briefcase. Trump is claiming she was pressured by a judge — but what does it say about DOJ independence when a federal prosecutor the president handpicked can be publicly humiliated and apparently removed for a decision she made on the merits?

It's Michigan primary day — and the Senate race has become the proxy war of the 2026 cycle. Progressive Abdul El-Sayed, backed by Bernie Sanders and AOC, is favored heavily over establishment pick Haley Stevens, who has Governor Whitmer, Senator Schumer, and outgoing Senator Gary Peters in her corner. Kalshi has El-Sayed's odds of winning at 98%. Scott and Jessica break down what an El-Sayed victory means for the Democratic Party's direction — and for Michigan's chances of flipping the Senate seat in November.

The House Ethics Committee is recommending that Representative Chuck Edwards be censured, finding substantial reason to believe he engaged in a pattern of unwanted advances and inappropriate conduct toward two young female staffers. In the context of the Graham Platner scandal and the ongoing allegations against Representative Max Miller, what does this say about accountability across both parties?

Trump Corruption Stories Stack Up as Blanche Gets Back on Track to Confirmation

    03-08-2026 | 50 Min.
Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov start by debriefing Scott’s appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher, and recapping Maher’s rant against the far-left of the Democratic Party.

Then, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is reportedly back on track toward confirmation, after issuing a notice claiming to rescind the $1.8 billion IRS settlement fund — the so-called “anti-weaponization fund” — and narrowing the scope of IRS audit immunity granted to Trump and his family — satisfying the demands of Senators Cornyn and Tillis.

Trump Media & Technology Group — who owns Trump’s social media network Truth Social —has launched a subscription data service giving traders and investors early access to posts from the biggest accounts — including the president's — for up to $100,000 a month. And Capital One Bank has revealed it closed multiple bank accounts belonging to Trump's real estate company in 2021 following a review by its anti-money-laundering team. When does the corruption end, and what's actually being done?

U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro has dropped felony vandalism charges against a former Olympic canoeist after documents revealed the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool damage was actually caused by a contractor's flawed installation.

The Commerce Department announced last week its intent to take minority stakes in seven private companies in exchange for federal grant funding under the CHIPS and Science Act, creating over $870 million in incentives for the semiconductor companies involved.

RFK Jr. appeared on CNN over the weekend in a heated exchange with Dana Bash over vaccine safety and the early days of COVID. He went on to say he was not responsible for the current measles outbreak, and that he recommends parents vaccinate their children for measles. Scott and Jessica break down whether RFK is using the Fauci diaries to discredit scientists and experts more broadly.

And finally: Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) has at last broken his silence, and has publicly called out his former son-in-law, Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), saying that Miller "should not serve in the House" following domestic abuse allegations from Miller’s ex-wife: Moreno's daughter, Emily. Miller responded in a social media livestream denying the allegations and vowing to win re-election. Will there be more Republicans speaking out?
