Sasquatch Odyssey

n December of 2025, an email came into the Sasquatch Odyssey inbox from a man named Jimmy. He's in his seventies, he's fighting cancer, and he's the last living person who knows the whole story of an 80-acre piece of mountain ground in north Georgia that's been in his family since 1913.

He never married and never had children, and he doesn't know who'll own the property when he's gone. So over the past ten months, in more than fifty emails, he's been telling me what happened on that land across four generations, and this is the first of ten parts. Jimmy won't come on the show, won't give his last name, and won't name the county, because he still lives on the property and still says there's activity there. 

I've never spoken to him. Everything you'll hear has been reorganized from his emails into a story I can narrate, with his details left exactly as he gave them. Part one begins with Jimmy's great-grandfather Will, a cotton-mill worker who bought cheap mountain land in the fall of 1913 and moved his wife and three children into a cabin the previous family had walked away from. Within weeks, food was disappearing, the dogs refused to cross the creek, and something was striking the cabin walls at night.

In April of 1914, after three days of rain, Will found a line of 17-inch barefoot tracks along his creek and wrote in a store ledger that somebody was on his place. A month later he stood across that creek with a rifle sighted on the chest of the thing that had made them, and he didn't fire.

What followed over the next four years, from Will's own notebook and from the stories his son Thomas told Jimmy decades later, is a cautious, dangerous, and mostly silent coexistence between one family in a cabin and another family on the mountain. There's food left on a rock above the spring and a white quartz stone that appeared in its place. There's a bluff charge on the north ridge that nearly ended everything.

There's a fence built along a creek for a reason nobody would say out loud, and a set of rules that were still being repeated in that family fifty years later, starting with five words Will wrote under a list of what he'd paid for nails.

They were here before me.

The first notebook ends in January of 1918 with one sentence on the inside of the back cover, and that sentence is where part two begins.

Fred from the SubArctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube Channel is back with two more amazing encounters from the remote Alaska wilderness—both involving terrifying close-range experiences with what witnesses describe as the legendary Hairy Man.

In the first account, experienced bush pilot Randy is flying a friend’s Super Cub near Wood-Tikchik State Park when worsening winds and a dropping ceiling force him to land on a remote knoll for the night. After securing the plane, strange moans and heavy breathing begin outside in the darkness. Then Randy sees a pair of large yellow-gold eyes staring through the plexiglass.

Whatever is outside begins circling the aircraft, banging against it and rocking the Super Cub hard enough that Randy fears it could be tipped over. Later, the creature starts rummaging beneath the plane—until it apparently gets a nose full of cayenne and Cajun seasoning and erupts with a piercing scream before disappearing into the night. At first light, Randy gets airborne and later discovers torn material on the aircraft’s tail.

Fred then shares Jonathan’s recent encounter between Wasilla and Willow. While hauling Costco supplies to his remote cabin after dark, Jonathan realizes something large is keeping pace with him from the trees. Bright white eye shine appears beside the trail as deep, powerful breathing follows him through the darkness.Jonathan fires warning shots and briefly sees the outline of a tall humanoid figure.

When he finally reaches safety, he discovers that toilet paper from his supplies has been taken and scattered behind him. The experience leaves him so shaken that once the danger has passed, the fear finally catches up with him.

Brian welcomes filmmaker Marq Evans, director of the new documentary Capturing Bigfoot, for a deep dive into the film, the newly discovered footage at the center of it, and the questions it raises about one of the most famous pieces of Bigfoot history.

The story began in June 2022, when Evans received an email from Teresa Brooks about a 16mm film reel her late father, Norm Johnson, had kept locked in a safe since the 1960s. At first, there was hope the reel might contain unknown Patterson-Gimlin material. But after the film was professionally scanned, Evans discovered something different: camera-original footage that became one of the central mysteries explored in the documentary.

Marq explains the extensive research behind the project, including hundreds of hours spent digging through books, archival material, and more than 130 Greg Long interview tapes. He also discusses conversations with key figures including Bob Gimlin, Jeff Meldrum, Bill Munns, Iva DeAtley, and Bob Heironimus, along with the connections between Norm and Dave Johnson, Roger Patterson, Boeing, and Chinook Press.

Brian and Marq also get into the controversy surrounding the footage, what it could mean for the history of the Patterson-Gimlin Film, and the rumors surrounding encounters at the Yakima Bigfoot Conference.

Marq explains what actually happened, how those moments were handled during production, and what he hopes viewers take away from Capturing Bigfoot.

The documentary is scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video on October 20, along with select theatrical screenings and filmmaker Q&A events.

Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with two more amazing encounter stories from the Alaska wilderness—both involving strange behavior, vocal mimicry, thrown objects, and creatures that seemed to know exactly how to keep their witnesses off balance.

The first account takes us to Troublesome Creek near the Susitna River, where Jenna and Mark began hearing something in the brush perfectly imitate Jenna’s laugh and Mark saying, “Stop that.” Mark soon caught sight of a broad, hunched, gray-white-haired humanoid moving through the trees and repeating Jenna’s giggle.

Then things escalated. Jenna spotted three smaller figures racing past them. A stick came flying from the brush, prompting her to fire her handgun, and the couple made a desperate retreat across the creek. As they tried to get away, Mark was struck squarely in the chest by a precisely thrown rock. Moments later, a powerful siren-like scream rolled through the valley.

Fred also shares the story of Rick, who traveled into the backcountry north of Tanana in late August to scatter his mother’s ashes. What began as a deeply personal trip turned frightening when something appeared to smother his campfire, watched him from behind a tree, and began tossing pinecones into the flames.

As the encounter continued, Rick became convinced that something was manipulating his route through the wilderness. After firing warning shots, he abandoned the trip and retreated to his pickup point, where he spent a long night listening to disturbing sounds in the darkness before catching an early flight out.

Two remote Alaska encounters. Two witnesses pushed to the breaking point. And two more stories suggesting that whatever people are encountering in the wilderness may be far more intelligent—and unpredictable—than expected.

In Part Two of Brian’s conversation with Matt from Texas, the story moves from the highway encounter that changed his life to what happened when he began actively searching for answers.

Matt takes us onto a secluded 500-acre property along a Central Texas river, where he says the activity has continued throughout 2026. He has documented unusual tracks, broken limbs, possible tree structures, repeated wood knocks, and strange vocalizations—and some of his most compelling experiences have happened when he tried interacting with whatever may be out there.

On September 6, Matt heard a tree snap near the same area where he had encountered a powerful, unexplained odor months earlier. He moved toward the location while filming and says he was met with several seconds of an unmistakable growl, followed by roughly fifteen seconds of heavy breathing. He also describes experiments involving alleged Bigfoot recordings, including an “angry Bigfoot” vocalization and a strange humming sound. 

Playing them into the woods appeared to trigger responses ranging from wood knocks to what Matt believed were heavy, bipedal footsteps moving nearby. Those experiences have also made him question whether attempting to provoke a reaction could damage the trust he believes he has slowly developed with the creatures on the property. Matt discusses tracks of noticeably different sizes that have led him to suspect there may be an adult female and a younger individual using the area.

He also recounts a May 17 sighting of a light reddish or copper-colored figure and a remarkable series of tree knocks recorded during the same outing.Then there is the evidence he discovered on his truck.On April 19, Matt found what appeared to be a large handprint on the vehicle. He carefully lifted the print with tape and later had it photographed and examined with assistance from local law enforcement.

He is now working with Doug Hajicek to explore whether material from the print could potentially be tested for DNA or skin oils.

From unexplained tracks and vocal responses to a fleeting sighting and a physical print that may still hold answers, Part Two follows Matt deeper into a mystery that began with one unforgettable Bigfoot encounter on a Texas highway—and has only become stranger since.
