We discuss what we feel was missing from Korea's Next Wave with the hilarious Sarah Claspell, but it wasn't lacking great songs, thankfully. Plus? Only 90 minutes! Jeremy picks out some very specific anime themes, Dimitry thinks a robbery may have occurred, Sarah wants to send one competitor to the moon, and Oscar wants to makeitloud.

Despite a false start in 2025, Eurovision Song Contest Asia looks like it's really happening in 2026! The proof? A full-on national final from Bhutan called Rhythm of Bhutan that has everything we love about national finals from small nations, plus a powerhouse internal selection from Malaysia. We talk about all five competitors in the final and what songs are likely to do well in November's contest. Jeremy is always happy to see college kids getting weird, Dimitry gets some rock with a distinctive Bhutanese twist, and Oscar would hire one dancer to do anything.

We thought we were going to sit down for a nice simple episode of the podcast, and then the EBU announced everything. Burgas! New age limit! No more pre-recorded backing tracks! Less well-defined rules about "conflicts"! But our fantastic guest, Irene White (Superstore, St. Denis Medical), was game to talk about it all, along with a bunch of songs released by artists from this year's Eurovision class. The votes are in, the jury's got its favorite and the same for the public: it's time to see who reigns supreme as we sort through the winners of the Eurovision Song Contest through the eighties and nineties. Some surprises on both sides, but there's also a shocking amount of consensus at the top of the standings and the bottom. In the middle, however? Outliers abound. Jeremy will make believe this moment's here to stay, Dimitry lets the feeling take control, and Oscar sees forever in your smile.
