Haunted American History

On the banks of the Mississippi near Dubuque, an ambitious river man named Mathias Ham built a fortune, a reputation, and eventually a limestone mansion meant to announce permanence to every boat that passed. But the river has never cared about ownership... and neither do the stories that gathered inside Ham’s house. This episode follows the rise of a frontier empire, a notorious legend of river pirates and revenge, and the strange reports that still cling to the mansion’s upper floors: footsteps, lights that won’t obey switches, and music from an organ that shouldn’t be able to play.
