Oorzaken Podcast

Afgelopen weken hoorde je de hoogtepunten van het Oorzaken Festival 2025. Op 12 en 13 december kwamen audioliefhebbers samen voor masterclasses, installaties, voorstellingen en de beste audiowerken van dat moment.
Deze laatste aflevering van het Oorzaken Festival 2025 neemt je mee in de wereld van podcastkritiek: terwijl romans, films en theater vaak uitgebreid worden besproken, blijft serieuze kritiek op verhalende podcasts beperkt. Tijdens deze meet-up presenteren schrijflabdeelnemers van het Domein voor Kunstkritiek en het Podcastnetwerk hun essays en gaan in gesprek met makers. Wat bieden zulke teksten voor makers en luisteraars, en hoe kan podcastkritiek in Nederland groeien?

In this episode you will hear a conversation about the series Het Beloofde Bos (NPO Luister, NTR)  by Mandula van den Berg and Rachel Corner. In the series these makers trace a tree planted in 1944 by Rachel’s father in Palestina. Through documentary photos and audio fragments, they uncover hidden histories of displacement, memory, and conflict. Moderation: Yinske Silva.

Co-founder Nancy Updike reflects on its legacy with podcast producer Maartje Duin (NL), who discovered her love for audio through TAL. Updike also worked on Serial, We Were Three. Duin created the award-winning podcasts De plantage van onze voorouders and Mina & Mevrouw.
