James 4:11-12 - Secret Meetings and Gossip Sessions Have No Place in the Church

    30-07-2026 | 23 Min.
In today's episode, we discuss two verses from James 4 that warn against gossip, secret meetings, and judgement of brothers and sisters in Christ:
Jenn shares personal experiences and biblical examples to illustrate how gossip can be detrimental to the church.
Judgement is not about calling out sin, but rather speaking against others to manipulate or destroy their reputation.
The difference between judging and discerning - examples from James 4:11-12, Romans 14, and 1 Corinthians 5.
As Christians, we're not to abandon the church, but follow the law of love and encourage a thriving, God-honoring church.
Jenn encourages listeners to be mindful of their words and actions, and to take the time to get both sides of the story in order to discern the truth.
If you're interested in learning more about how to navigate difficult situations like gossip in the church and how to treat others with love and respect, tune in to this episode for insightful discussion on judgement and love.

James 4:1-10 - Divided Hearts Produce Divided Churches

    28-07-2026 | 26 Min.
James 4 delves into a crucial topic that affects the church worldwide: the problem of selfish ambition and its devastating consequences. This issue is not limited to Western churches, but is a global phenomenon that James calls "demonic" because it's a direct result of the enemy's hatred for the church.
How wars and factions among church members originate from their own pleasures and selfish ambitions.
James is addressing the church, not non-believers, and that this issue is not new, but has been present since the early days of Christianity.
The importance of taking issues to God, but doing so with the right heart.
Jenn warns against the prosperity "gospel," which teaches that following God will lead to earthly blessings, and highlights how this can lead to a divided heart and a lack of true unity with God. She also discusses the dangers of false prophets and the need to resist the devil and his tactics.
The church has a choice: to continue down the same path and be humbled, or to humble themselves before God, who will then exalt them. Jenn encourages listeners to take a step back, reevaluate their own hearts, and rededicate themselves to God, taking the gift of grace that Jesus offers.
