Her work traces the formative influence of our earliest beginnings—where body, psyche, birth, and belonging first take shape—and explores how these foundational experiences ripple outward into embodiment, relationships, and the architecture of culture itself.

Wendy Bruns is APPPAH's Outreach and Communications Director and a passionate advocate for expanding public awareness of prenatal and perinatal psychology. Through her work with APPPAH, she helps bring the science and wisdom of birth psychology into broader conversation with families, professionals, and communities. Outside of APPPAH, Wendy is heavily integrated into her local community as a doula, educator, and placenta specialist.  She truly believes that community is central to fostering the healthiest beginnings, and that peace on earth begins before birth.

Special guest episode, Pilli Cortese is a documentary producer, filmmaker, yoga teacher, and mother whose journey to motherhood challenged everything she thought she knew about biology, timing, and possibility.
At 44, she met the love of her life in what felt like a magical twist of fate. He was 21 years younger than her, and they met on a date that would later become deeply significant: 7.11.
A few years later, after losing two pregnancies and approaching her 50th birthday, Pilli was faced with a difficult reality. If she wanted to become a mother, she would need to let go of her attachment to genetics and embrace egg donation.
As the COVID pandemic brought the world to a standstill, she and her partner continued pursuing what many would have considered impossible. Along the way, she began exploring spirit babies, conscious conception, intuition, faith, and what she calls "believing beyond logic."
Throughout the entire experience, she filmed everything in a very raw authentic way.

In this inspiring conversation, filmmaker and documentary producer Pilli Cortese shares the remarkable story behind her journey to motherhood at 50.
After losing two pregnancies and facing the reality that genetics might not be part of her path to becoming a mother, Pilli found herself standing between two worlds: the world of statistics, logic, and medical probabilities, and the world of intuition, faith, and possibility.
Together, Kelly and Pilli explore spirit babies, conscious conception, motherhood beyond genetics, trusting intuition, and how to keep moving toward a dream when the odds appear impossible.
As the world entered lockdown during the COVID pandemic, Pilli and her partner continued their egg donation journey, discovering that sometimes the greatest transformations happen when we stop allowing logic to have the final word.
