Ep. 2 - How transformations succeed or fail
Show Notes: Ep. 2 – How transformations succeed or fail.In this episode, Judith van Hoof and Sukie Kang cut through the noise to discuss what a true business transformation really is. It's certainly not a project or programme. We explore why clarity is paramount and how success hinges on a clear vision of the North Star—the intended destination that every employee and leader can align with. Crucially, we talk about the difference between leaders providing mere buy-in and actively engaging and role-modelling the desired behaviour, noting that a lack of proactive executive engagement is often the number one reason transformations falter.Beyond vision and leadership, we dive into the practical factors that turn transformation into reality, including the importance of setting boundaries by using backlogs to reserve space for change-related work. This directly combats employee burnout from taking on change in addition to their day job. We also cover the critical people aspects, discussing how to address the twin anxieties of learning (will I be able to do my job?) and survival (will I still have a job?), which requires transparent communication and robust training to ensure people are not just enabled, but feel safe to succeed. We welcome contributions from the community!
