The Mediumship Breakthrough: Moving Beyond Fear, Ego and the Need to Be Right with Charlie Kelly

    11-08-2026 | 1 u. 11 Min.
What if the biggest thing holding back your mediumship isn’t your ability — but your fear of getting it wrong?
Medium, teacher and YouTuber Charlie Kelly returns to Soul Sync for a refreshingly honest conversation about fear, ego, perfectionism and what really happens as mediumship begins to deepen.
Charlie believes many developing mediums become so focused on being accurate, impressive or “good enough” that they unintentionally interrupt the very communication they are trying to strengthen.
    The need to understand.
The need to know where the story is going.
    The fear of hearing “no”.
    The comparison with other mediums.
    The pressure to prove ourselves.
And underneath so much of it: the ego trying to keep us safe.
Jason and Charlie explore what changes when we stop trying to control the communication and begin trusting what is actually being received.
Charlie shares why developing mediumship is as much about personal development as spiritual technique, why fear can occupy the very space needed for communication, and why confidence doesn’t necessarily mean confidence in yourself — but confidence in the intelligence you are working with.
They also explore how these same patterns show up far beyond mediumship.
How many opportunities have we avoided because we were frightened?
The job we didn’t go for.
    The relationship we didn’t pursue.
    The chance we didn’t take.
    The thing we didn’t say.
Charlie shares the personal philosophy that now guides him: rather than trying to eliminate fear, he asks himself how many times he can beat fear in a single day.
    In this conversation:
    • Why beginner mediumship can become saturated in fear
    • The danger of judging an entire reading by the tiny percentage that went wrong
    • Why the ego needs managing rather than pretending it doesn’t exist
    • The difference between receiving information and trying to understand it
    • Why mediumship requires self-development as much as technique
    • Learning to stop embellishing what you receive
    • Why language can activate powerful memories
    • Building evidence through validation rather than assumption
    • Confidence, surrender and trusting the spirit communicator
    • Why comparison quietly chips away at us
    • Moving from performance into genuine service
    • What fear costs us in everyday life
Funny, challenging and deeply practical, this is a conversation about becoming a better medium — but perhaps even more importantly, becoming freer within yourself.

The Healing Power of Surrender: Addiction, Spirituality and Coming Home to Yourself with Austin Rampt

    03-08-2026 | 1 u. 1 Min.
From crack addiction and the cartel to spiritual freedom, Austin Rampt’s extraordinary story is one of destruction, survival, surrender and ultimately coming home to himself.
Austin took his first drink at just thirteen years old. By fifteen, he was addicted to opiate painkillers, and by seventeen, he was smoking crack cocaine. His addiction led to overdoses, repeated attempts at rehabilitation, the accidental destruction of his family home and a devastating relapse after nine years of sobriety.
After being given the choice between rehabilitation and prison, Austin left rehab after just six days, boarded a plane and escaped to Mexico. There, he found himself surrounded by drugs and drawn into the dangerous world of the cartel.
But behind the appearance of money, excess and partying was a man sitting alone in a room, drunk and high, crying because he missed his children.
In this deeply honest conversation, Austin and Jason explore what addiction is really trying to soothe, why outward success cannot heal an internal wound and how the gifts of sobriety can sometimes take us away from the very practices that made sobriety possible.
Jason also opens up about his own experiences with cocaine, cannabis, shame and self-destruction—and the difficult journey of learning to see addiction not as a moral failing, but as an attempt to escape unbearable pain.
    Together, they explore:
    • How childhood experiences can shape addiction and self-worth
    • The danger of believing achievement will make us worthy
    • Why external success can conceal profound internal suffering
    • Austin’s experiences with addiction and the cartel in Mexico
    • Jason’s own journey through cocaine use, cannabis and psychosis
    • The importance of connection, honesty and intimate relationships
    • Why punishment and the war on drugs fail to address the roots of addiction
    • The spiritual foundations of the Twelve Steps
    • What it truly means to surrender to a power greater than ourselves
    • How our greatest failures can become the foundation of our service
    • Why healing may be less about becoming somebody new and more about uncovering who we have always been
Austin is the author of One Last Hit: The Remarkable True Story of an Addict’s Journey to Find Himself. His experiences now allow him to speak openly about recovery, fatherhood, spirituality and the possibility of building a meaningful life after complete destruction.
    As Austin explains:
“My journey of healing has not been to add anything to me. It’s been to unwind all the things that were essentially not me.”
Whether you have experienced addiction personally, love somebody who has, or recognise the ways we all reach for things outside ourselves to change how we feel inside, this conversation offers a powerful reminder:
    Surrender is not always defeat.
Sometimes, surrender is where freedom begins.

Never Limit the Limitless: The Extraordinary Power of Spirit with Colin Bates

    31-07-2026 | 1 u. 20 Min.
What happens when we stop trying to control mediumship—and allow the limitless intelligence of spirit to lead?
International spiritual medium, healer and teacher Colin Bates returns to Soul Sync for a joyful, profound and wonderfully expansive conversation about the true nature of mediumship, the journey of the soul and the extraordinary power available within every one of us.
Jason begins by sharing how leaving his business and creating more space in his life has transformed his own sensitivity. Spirit communication has begun happening more naturally and unexpectedly, raising an important question: do we develop mediumship, or do we simply remove the barriers preventing it from flowing?
Colin explores the relationship between belief, faith and personal experience, explaining why knowing that the spirit world exists is different from believing that we ourselves can become an instrument for it.
    Together, Jason and Colin discuss:
    • Why stress, concentration and the physical mind can interrupt mediumship
    • The different stages of belief and spiritual faith
    • Why nobody should ever be told they cannot become a medium
    • Mediumship as a journey of life rather than death
    • Learning to trust symbols, impressions and spontaneous information
    • The difference between describing evidence and revealing the essence of a spirit person
    • Why mediums must stay with the experience rather than rushing ahead
    • The importance of spiritual philosophy and the “food of the soul”
    • Finding your own unique expression instead of copying another medium
    • Whether modern Spiritualism has become limited by institutions and restrictions
    • Love, service and compassion as the true foundations of mediumship
Colin reminds us that there is no single correct way to unfold spiritually. Every soul perceives spirit differently, and our task is not to become somebody else—it is to recognise and trust who we already are.
There is no right way and no wrong way. There is only the way that resonates within your heart.

The Love I Spent My Life Looking For

    30-07-2026 | 27 Min.
What is love—and where do we first learn whether we are worthy of receiving it?
In this deeply personal and immersive solo episode of Soul Sync, I take you back through my own search for love: from the circumstances surrounding my birth and the absence of my biological father, to growing up gay at a time when hiding who I was often felt safer than being seen.
With music, sound and recreated memories, we travel into my first experience of London’s gay scene at sixteen, when the Astoria offered a glimpse of freedom, belonging and the extraordinary feeling of discovering that I was not alone.
But being desired is not always the same as being loved.
I reflect on the years I spent looking outside myself for acceptance—through relationships, sex, achievement and the approval of others—and how low self-worth eventually contributed to relationships in which I accepted far less than I deserved.
I also explore how mediumship and my relationship with the spirit world have transformed my understanding of love. I now believe that love is the only thing that truly exists, that kindness is among the greatest things we can offer another human being, and that our search for lasting love must ultimately begin within ourselves.
This is an episode about rejection, sexuality, belonging, loneliness, survival, self-acceptance and the love we spend our lives trying to find.
Perhaps love was never something we had to earn.
Perhaps it was something we came here to remember.
Content note: This episode includes references to childhood rejection, homophobic bullying, domestic abuse and adult sexual experiences.

Two Mediums Reveal How They Experience the Spirit World | with Dennis Blaauw

    27-07-2026 | 42 Min.
What does communication with the spirit world actually feel like from inside the mind of a medium?
In this open and often humorous conversation, psychic mediums Jason Paul and Dennis Blaauw compare how they each experience mediumship—and discover that no two connections unfold in quite the same way.
We explore whether mediumship can truly be taught, or whether it is something that must be individually uncovered and remembered. Dennis and I discuss clairvoyance, clairsentience, symbolism, emotion, energy and how spirit may draw upon a medium’s memories and personal experiences to communicate.
We also examine why trying too hard can interrupt the natural flow of mediumship, the importance of experimentation, and whether traditional approaches to teaching mediumship can sometimes become too structured or restrictive.
Along the way, we put our own intuitive abilities to the test with a spontaneous colour experiment—with mixed and amusing results!
    In this conversation:
✨ What spirit communication feels like
✨ Why every medium experiences the spirit world differently
✨ Whether mediumship can be taught
✨ Clairvoyance, clairsentience and symbolic communication
✨ How spirit uses memories, feelings and personal associations
✨ Why overthinking can block the connection
✨ Learning through experimentation—and embracing the “no”
✨ The strengths and limitations of traditional mediumship training
✨ Letting go of pressure and allowing mediumship to unfold
✨ A live intuitive colour experiment
This is an honest conversation between two developing and working mediums who are continuing to question, explore and refine their understanding of the spirit world. Rather than presenting one fixed answer, we invite you to consider what resonates with your own experience.
