Parson's chameleons are famous for how much water they need. But how you provide it depends on where you live. In this Parson's Chameleon Month episode, I'm joined by Robin Villere of Nealon Reptiles. Robin keeps Parson's in a very humid climate, and I keep mine in a dry one. Parson's Chameleons deserve more than a month — but this week we're tackling one of the biggest questions in their care: should you keep them outside, and if so, how do you do it safely?
Joining Bill this week is James Cross, a master carpenter with years of firsthand experience keeping Parson's Chameleons outdoors through the swing of hot summers and cold winters. Together they dig into why outdoor keeping brings out a vibrancy in chameleons that's hard to replicate indoors, the real dangers you need to guard against, and the daily — sometimes hourly — judgment calls involved in knowing when to bring an animal in.
